Every day's a school day
20th April 2026
Due to popular demand we have had two more of our colleagues trained on the safe and efficient use of soft washing and roof cleaning equipment from Ionic Systems. Jason Wrghtson and Peter Crichley both attended The British Window Cleaning Academy (BWCA) at Ionic Systems HQ, Swindon, Wiltshire and successfully completed the two day course. Upon arrival back in The North East the lads were out busy following day honing their newly found skills at a client’s house in Whickham for a roof clean with our Roof Wand roof cleaning system.
BWCA SW5 Soft-Washing Course; both Peter and Jason discovered the science, safety and skill behind professional soft washing. This comprehensive course combines self paced online learning which requires a pre-requisite Pass before being enrolled on the practical part of the course. Teaching you how to assess surfaces, mix and apply chemicals safely and achieve outstanding results. Throughout the course the lads gained the knowledge, confidence and competence to soft wash effectively, safely, responsibly and professionally - using safe working practices and proven technology used throughout the soft washing sector.
Soft Washing - The Smarter, Safer way to clean;
Soft washing is one of the fastest growing exterior cleaning sectors, with residential soft wash and commercial soft washing clients increasingly requesting safe, effective treatment for the removal and treatment of organic growth such as algae, lichen and moss without resorting to abrasive or expensive labour intensive methods.
At the British Window Cleaning Academy (BWCA) - of which I used to be the Instructor for The North and Scotland. The training is based on Best Practice and real world experience focusing on the understanding of the surface to be cleaned first before selecting the appropriate chemical type and strength. The BWCA’s ethos with soft washing is to train operatives to “Protect the Surface”, “The Environment” and “The Operative”. Ensuring every soft wash is carried out safely, effectively and responsibly.
